Food security needs peace, cooperation and justice

Yes, I’ve just become a granddad. I was thinking about the world that all the babies born this year will grow up into. What does food security mean for them?

Peace

Many babies born this year have no food security. For some, it’s because their parents are trying to survive in the face of conflicts raging around them – in Ukraine, Gaza and Darfur, where the UN is warning of famine, and many other places around the world. For others, it’s because their families are squeezed by a cost of living crisis, in part linked to the problems caused for our food system by conflict, injustice and poverty.
